What you will need to bring with you:

Proof of U.S. Citizenship
- State certified birth certificate, long form only (mother and father must be included on the birth certificate) AND a photocopy of the front (and back, if there is printed information). To get your birth certificate, visit Pennsylvania Vital Records / Birth Certificates or Out of State Vital Records / Birth Certificates
OR
- US government issued certificate of Naturalization
OR
▫ Current or previously issued full valid US passport book or card
Proof of Identity
- Valid driver's license, state ID AND submit a photocopy of the front and back, OR current passport.
- If an applicant or the parents / legal guardians of a minor presents an out-of-state driver's license, additional identification is required, such as:
- Health insurance card
- Military ID
- School / college ID
- Social security card
- Work ID
Photographs
- One recent color passport photo (2 inches square).
- Glasses must be removed for a passport photo even if glasses are routinely worn.
- Passport photos can be taken in the Prothonotary's Office for a $10.50 fee.
Fees
- 16 years of age and over: $130.00 (10-year passport)
You'll need a check or money order payable to the U.S. Department of State, and separate check, cash, or money order for the $35.00 execution fee made payable to the Lancaster County Prothonotary. - 15 years of age and under: $100.00 (5-year passport)
You'll need a check or money order payable to the U.S. Department of State, and separate check, cash or money order for the $35.00 execution fee, payable to the Lancaster County Prothonotary. - For U.S. passport applications for children 15 years of age and under, the children must appear in person with both parents. If both parents cannot be present applying parent must provide proof of sole custody or a statement of consent from non-applying parent.
All applicants must appear in person, regardless of age.
Processing Times
The processing time currently varies depending on volume and other circumstances. These times are regularly updated by the Department of State as they change. These times can be found on the National Passport Information Center’s website:

You can fill-in and download your passport application online. You will then bring in your completed form, along with everything you need listed above to lessen your time here in our office.
