From the man who wrote the book on Fire-Ground Size-up, the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center Foundation is proud to sponsor Chief Mike Terpak (retired—Jersey City FD). Chief Terpak will systematically review fire department operations in Light-Weight designed buildings, and comprehensively analyze National Institute of Standard and Technology and Underwriters Laboratories information relating to Transitional Fire Attack. The strategy “hitting it hard from the yard” has become an evolving topic in the fire service. Chief Terpak will address the merits and considerations of this tactic among other critical response considerations!
This training will introduce attendees to some of the ways that HUD assesses the performance of Lancaster County's homeless response system, and examine recent trends in that performance to better understand PA-510's current strengths and weaknesses.

In times of crisis and natural disasters, amateur radio is often used as a means of emergency communication when wireline, internet, cell phones and other conventional means of communications fail. Unlike commercial systems, Amateur radio is usually independent of terrestrial facilities that can fail. It is dispersed throughout a community without “choke points” such as cellular telephone sites that can be overloaded.
